.. plus chuckles and/or absurdities ...
  1. M.A.N.T.I.S. (TV Series, 1994) Dr. Miles Hawkins portrayed by Carl Lumbly
... DLL Editor's note -- IMHO the only thing absurd about this great show was how quickly it flared up, then vanished after one season. The pilot that ran in the Spring 1994 was a fantastic first episode in which the superhero's entire computer science support team was Black ... a concept way, way, way ahead of its time, so far ahead that when the regular Fall season began, all the Black techs were gone, leaving only the Black superhero ... then he was gone too ... :-(
  1. “No one ever comes to the South Bronx": Bernie's Bronx rally proves campaigning IRL matters ... DLL Editor's note -- I was born and bred in the South Bronx, so this article reports an event that makes me chuckle at its passing absurdity. Yes, for a long, long time nobody ever came to the South Bronx; but that's changing because things are getting better and better in my old neighborhood. Bernie's visit confirms this progress ... and will earn him lots of votes from lots of proud South Bronx voters who will be "feeling the Bern" for a long, long time ... :-)
