DLL Storify of Black Enterprise BE SMART Hackathon -- Monday 10/12/15, Tuesday 10/13/15

Last update: Tuesday 10/13/15
Black Enterprise sponsored this Hackathon as part of its TechConneXt Summit conference in Santa Clara, CA. Five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were invited to send participating teams -- Howard University, Johnson C. Smith, Morgan State University, Southern University, and Spelman College

The teams were challenged to use their creativity to develop apps that would enable individuals to create budgets, track spending, manage expenses, review credit history, develop and execute a savings and investment plan, and break old habits that can sabotage wealth-building efforts. The teams were judged by the viability of their apps, their utility to individual users, and the efficacy of the technological platform. The membership of the HBCU teams and other information can be found on the hackathon's home page

... BE also livestreamed some segments of the hackathon -- Monday, 2 pm to 6 pm (Pacific) ... 10 pm to 12 midnight (Pacific) ... Tuesday 6 am to 12 noon (Pacific) ... 12:30 to 4:00 pm (Pacific).

Below find the DLL Storify of tweets that were generated by participants who used hashtags = #BEHACK, #TECHCNXT, and other hashtags that emerged in the Twitter stream. As usual, this DLL Storify is merely a "firehose" draft, i.e., it includes tweets in chronological order without comment or classification ... Storyfies of other #DiversityInTech events are listed in the DLL Archives.
